ABRAPOX

A solvent free, zero VOC polyamine adduct cured epoxy paint reinforced with zircon and corundum grains to
maximize the impact and abrasion resistance. ABRAPOX (high wear epoxy) has high abrasion resistance, high
chemical resistance, gives high film thickness at one coat designed to provide cost effective resistance to
particle impact abrasion with a high degree of flexure and vibration. ABRAPOX protects relatively large flat
areas from abrasive attack. It is easily applied on-site, and also applied to more complex areas. It is ideally
suited for application to: cyclones, hoppers, deflector screens, wear plates, burner barrels, mixing blades,
bunkers, pipe bends and process equipment.

ABRAPOX  Properties and Areas of Use

– Tough hard wearing and flexible film.
– Suitable for marine and industrial atmospheric exposure, immersion and water tanks made of steel or concrete.

Suitable Surfaces

 Steel and non ferrous metals properly prepared and blast cleaned to ISO-Sa2½
 Concrete free of contamination, dust and efflorescence, and properly prepared

Bare Steel:

Cleanliness: Blast – cleaning to Sa2 1/2 (ISO-8501-1:2007). Power tool cleaning to min. St2 (ISO 8501-1:2007) may be acceptable, subject to exposure conditions.

Shopprimed Steel:

Clean, dry and undamaged approved shop primer

Coated Surfaces:

Clean, dry and undamaged compatible primer .

Other Surfaces:

For aluminum substrates, thorough washing and sweeping with a nonmetallic blast medium is required.

ABRAPOX  Application Conditions

Substrate temperature should be 10°C or above for applicaƟon and during cure and a minimum of 3°C above the dew point. Adequate dry air ventilation is recommended for optimum drying.

Application Information

No thinner needed for dilution.

Application Tools

Metal Trowels

Cleaning Thinner

Equipment should be cleaned immediately after use with Paint Thinner Colorama TH907EP.

Drying time:

Drying times are affected by air ventilation, temperature, film thickness and number of coats.
Substrate Temp.                                        10° C                        25° C                       40° C
Surface Dry                                                  6 h                           4 h                            3 h
Through Dry                                               12 h                           8 h                           6 h
Dry to recoat, minimum                           18 h                          10 h                          8 h
The given data serve as guideline only. The actual drying time differs according to film thickness, ventilation, humidity and underlying paint system.
